Protecting the environment and promoting worker health and safety are issues at the center stage of today's property industry. This course provides you with an overview of the environmental health and safety considerations in building operations. You'll learn to develop and manage proactive environmental/occupational health and safety programs, comply with regulatory standards and guidelines governing facility health and safety issues, and assess when to obtain technical assistance. A list of resources and an extensive glossary for further information on the topics covered is given out for students to use.

  • Understanding and awareness of industry and government regulations that relate to your facilities
  • Complying with regulations
  • Understanding of legal implications and the importance of accurate recordkeeping

ACE credit recommendation: 2 semester hours, lower or upper division baccalaureate in Building Systems, Facilities Management, Stationary Engineering, or Property Management.
