The aftermath of recent disasters like the London bombings and Hurricane Katrina has made it clear that sheltering in place plans are critical—even for those not directly affected by an incident. Shelter-in-place programs allow building occupants to remain inside a building for increased safety and security for a given period of time, and ingress and egress are controlled. This seminar will outline the key components of a shelter-in-place plan for commercial real estate owners and share lessons learned from property managers who established extended shelters following Hurricane Katrina.
This online course is designed for building/property owners, brokers, leasing agents, corporate counsel, property managers, asset managers, facility and corporate facility managers, vendors and suppliers to the commercial real estate industry.
Topics include:
Key components of sheltering in place plan and how it differs from simply providing shelter.
Details of conditions that warrant a shelter in place scenario, from severe weather to HAZMAT incidents to terror threats
